Mary Ann McCabe (bio) says that policymakers need clarity from researchers.

I think it's not for everybody to disseminate the research to policymakers if that is really uncomfortable for them. Or if their line of research is not mature enough to the point where they can make those few claims, then I think that they should hold back.
I just recently had this opportunity to talk to Ed Zigler about this issue and he was remembering that during his time of being much more in contact with policymakers on a regular basis, that they said to him, what they really wanted was a two-armed psychologist. Not somebody who would say, on the one hand, X and on the other hand, Y. He wanted somebody who could use both hands at the same time.
