Revise AgainPosted on November 21, 2007 Andrew A. Nierenberg (bio) recommends learning writing techniques. |
One of the other things that I think is very important to do is that in general, especially for MDs, less so for PhDs, but especially for MDs, we are not really taught how to write. And it’s essential to learn how to do that, and the best way to learn how to do it is just to do it. And so to try to publish, to try to write as much as one is able to is really very important. To be able to have your mentor look over what’s going on, to be able to edit and write, revise, revise again and learn how to do it. Read what you can on writing. Get any help that you can that’s available at your institution.
