Everything Plays out in the BudgetPosted on February 20, 2006 David J. Kupfer (bio) emphasizes the importance of a grant's budget justification section. |
At the same time, I think it's important that we learn something about budgeting, something about budget justification, what people are doing. In fact I would say that if you read the budget justification of a good grant, you ought to know what the grant's about without ever having read the grant if you're doing it right. How many assessments are going to take place? Who's going to do the assessments? Again, going back to the notion if they're going to be blind assessments, non-blind assessments. What's going to be ruled out? Are you going to have to do medical examinations to rule things out? Laboratory tests? All of that plays out in the budget, so it helps you think about the whole study.
