Institutional Review Board Issues

Dr. Christopher Ryan explores the issues that can arise when working with institutional review boards (IRBs). This introductory course will discuss the Belmont Report, the common rule, conflict of interest, and how IRBs support researchers. In addition, real-life scenarios in psychiatric research are presented with feedback on how to handle each situation. Dr. Christopher Ryan is the Director of the University of Pittsburgh IRB.
